Kai Corporation, a leading distributor of synbiotic cleaning solutions in Japan, partnered with HeiQ to bring innovative probiotic cleaning products to consumers through a major Japanese shopping channel. 

The first broadcast sparked immediate interest, and sales skyrocketed. Within eight months, growth reached over 300%, and in the following year, sales climbed another 45%, marking an extraordinary 3,800% sales increase in less than two years. 

This success demonstrates Japanese consumers’ appreciation for high-performance probiotic cleaning solutions. In reviews, they rave about the results, highlighting sparkling surfaces and odor-free bathrooms that stay fresh longer. The collaboration overcame regulatory and marketing hurdles, setting a new benchmark for high‑performance microbial cleaning in the Japanese market.

Le Beaumont, a personal care company based in Thailand, has been working with probiotics in personal care since 2015. The journey began when Miss Napapat Anakepong used the products herself during a difficult period in her life, became a personal advocate, and decided to bring the concept to Thailand.

Probilife Pty Ltd, based in South Africa, partners with Pruex Africa to deliver HeiQ probiotic solutions for hygiene and water treatment. Corran Farming, an innovative crocodile farm near the south shore of Lake Malawi, replaced harsh chemical cleaning agents with a natural microbial water treatment approach. This change removed chemicals from the farm’s processes and created a way to reuse water responsibly.
 

As part of a UN development initiative, nutrient-rich water from the crocodile pens now irrigates 19 hectares of land and supplies three aquaculture ponds for smallholder farmers. Before this system, local farmers relied on unpredictable rainfall and fertilizers. Today, they grow crops more reliably, improve household income, and strengthen food security for their families.

HeiQ partner TOMENA ECO, based in Croatia, specializes in professional and institutional cleaning, serving demanding environments such as healthcare facilities. For more than five years, the company has relied on microbial cleaning based on probiotic technology as the foundation of its cleaning approach. Probiotic cleaners are used across sanitary areas, floors, interior surfaces, degreasing applications, and grease management, forming a consistent system for daily cleaning operations. In specific use cases, such as allergen‑ and pet‑related environments, synbiotic sprays complement the otherwise probiotic‑based cleaning portfolio.
 

This biology‑based approach is applied as an alternative to conventional chemical cleaning products, supporting stable routines in high‑traffic institutional settings. The solutions have been implemented in particularly demanding environments, including hospital cleaning applications in Zagreb.

Our long‑standing collaboration illustrates how microbial cleaning solutions can be integrated reliably into institutional and healthcare cleaning over many years.

Woellner GmbH, a German chemical solutions provider with more than 130 years of experience, wanted an alternative approach to conventional chemical treatment of the closed-circuit water in cooling towers. In January 2021, the company introduced Waropure®, powered by HeiQ microbials.

Before this change, cooling lamellas accumulated up to 40% organic and inorganic buildup and required replacement once or twice a year. Each replacement caused production interruptions and cost the company approximately EUR 20,000. After switching from chemical treatment to Waropure®, improvements became visible quickly. The lamellas remained clean, water quality was stable, and no replacements were needed since the start. This also helped reduce maintenance‑related downtime. The shift to a microbial supported Woellner’s efforts to reduce the use of harsh chemicals while increasing operational reliability. Regular inspections and microbiological analyses confirmed the consistent system performance.

HeiQ partner Kai Corporation, a Japan-based provider of odor control solutions, introduced synbiotic cleaning into specialized trauma cleaning services for kodokushi (lonely death) rooms, where unattended deaths often lead to deeply embedded and persistent odors. Initially, odor control relied mainly on ozone machines, which typically required about a week of treatment and did not always prevent odors from returning from walls, fine cracks, or drain systems. Seeking a more effective approach, Kai Corporation integrated synbiotic cleaning products into these workflows around 2017.
 

Cleaning teams observed noticeably faster odor reduction, often within two days, compared with ozone-only processes, and odors were fully eliminated. Feedback from cleaning providers and residents indicated reduced odor persistence and no more odor-related complaints in surrounding areas. Synbiotic cleaning proved effective at reaching odor sources that were difficult to access with conventional treatments.
