HeiQ strengthens Advanced Materials leadership to drive innovation and customer success
After a period of dedicated service, Mike Abbott, Executive Vice President of AMX, will leave HeiQ at the end of October. During his tenure, Mike played a key role in shaping and growing the business, helping establish AMX as a leading provider of innovative materials technologies across multiple industries.
Commenting on the transition, HeiQ co-founder and CEO Carlo Centonze said: "Mike has made a substantial and lasting contribution to HeiQ. His leadership, energy, and commitment have helped shape the business into what it is today. On behalf of the entire company, I sincerely thank Mike for his dedication and wish him every success in his next chapter."
Effective immediately, Raquel Vaz Vieira, HeiQ's long-standing leader of Textile Innovation, will assume leadership of AMX. Over her decade at HeiQ, Raquel has played a central role in developing customer-focused innovations and bringing differentiated technologies to market, positioning her well to lead AMX through its next phase of growth.
Under the new structure, AMX will comprise three Operational Units:
- OU Textile;

During the transition period, Raquel will work closely with Mike and the AMX leadership team to ensure continuity and maintain momentum across the business. She will be supported by the unit's experienced commercial leaders: Musa Raibin (OU Textile), Perry Mottley (OU Flooring), and Dave Bilbro (OU Industrial).
Raquel Vaz Vieira commented: "I am honored to take on this role and lead AMX into its next chapter. Innovation remains at the heart of everything we do. By working closely with our customers and leveraging HeiQ's differentiated technologies, we will continue creating solutions that help them achieve greater competitiveness and success in their markets."
